| 4/21/2010 | UmBio AB is proud to announce that a new release of UmBio Evince has been introduced to the public today.
The 2.4.0 release includes new features and the enhanced possibility to evaluate your data and extract the most possible information from it using the Evince software.
Some of all the new features are briefly described below.
Confidence intervals can be displayed for weights and loadings. The calculated intervals are based on Jack-knifing and the default settings are at 95 % confidence level.
Prediction limits for Ypred are introduced in PLS-DA models by using residuals in X model (Dcrit) and upper and lower limits for Ypred. These limits can be interactively modified in DMX plot and in obs vs pred plot.
It is possible to significantly reduce the data size, by removing similar rows of pixels, in the import of image files.
A feature for calculation of particle size distribution has been introduced which can be used for the analysis of physical particles and voids in images of objects.

This news was released the 21st of October 2009, during the prize ceremony held in Linköping, where last year’s winner is located. Next year the ceremony will take place in Umeå where this year’s winner UmBio AB has their headquarters.

The Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa, has decided to implement the world leading chemical imaging solution from UmBio to further expand their pharmaceutical science. The new order includes UmBio Laboratory, UmBio Predict, UmBio Evince Image, and UmBio ConBelt a miniaturized conveyor belt.
